How to create a great venue listing
Hello! Welcome to WorkTripp, where we help customers to create anti-boring, high-impact offsites for their team.
There are two ways you can list your venue on our marketplace:
If you want to list your venue individually so that it can be booked by customers as part of their offsite, please go to the ‘Add a listing’ area and select the Venue option to create your listing.
If you have a full retreat option, which brings together your venues, perhaps a few experiences and even a facilitator, select the Programmed Retreat option to create your listing.
Each listing type is linked to your profile page. This is where you can talk about your experience, your background, your purpose, values and motivation for the work you do.
Whichever listing you create, here are a few pointers to make it stand out from the crowd.
For Venue listings
Go to “Add a listing” and work through the wizard. This will take about five minutes. Remember to scroll to the bottom and move onto the next section before you hit “back”.
Title
This is your one-line marketing message! Focus on what makes your space unique, not your whole profile. Try and get across the personality of your space in 5-7 words max. You can create more than 1 listing if you have various spaces available.
Eg “Wilderness venue 1 hour from London”, “Anti-burnout cabins in Cornwall ”.
Imagine this is Netflix and you need to summarise what your space is all about in one snappy title.
Description
Write this in your voice. It’s important that clients get a sense of your personality & values before they get in contact, to ensure there’s a good ‘fit’ with the team. Expectations of “wild” venue are going to vary significantly between an experienced FMCG legal team and a young crypto DAO. Target your audience.
Include short descriptions of:
Who you are and what you do
Why you are the right venue for business teams
What to expect from your venue/retreat
What type of team, business or sector you usually (or most like to) work with (size, stage, sector, values)
Testimonials
Include three testimonials from clients who match your target audience. This section is designed to build trust and provides a quick indication of whether you’ve worked with similar team set-ups in the past.
Tick Boxes
Tick everything which reflects your venue. “Luxe” and/or “Wild”? “Hotel” or “Glamping”?
Capacity
Maximum event capacity relates to your function capacity for team drinks or daytime gathering (ie. if you didn’t have to worry about overnight accommodation)
The number of unique bedrooms is really important, as often teams want a bedroom each.
The maximum sleep capacity is if people share rooms.
The number of bathrooms is important too. Is it going to get weird if Brian from accounts and Jasel from sales are sharing a bathroom? We once went on a leadership strategy retreat with shared open shares… rather more bonding than we’d hoped for.
Information
Best for: this section is where you can capture what your venue has really worked well for previously. Ie. NGO and creative workshops? Leadership strategy session. ScaleUp re-connect events and celebrations.
Things to do: Select from the pull down menu and add as much description as possible. Ie. Mountain “Opportunity to take a hike on the South Downs way…”
Select from the options available in Facilities - details on catering, wifi and meeting spaces are especially important.
For grounds, covered meeting area and onsite activities add “Yes” where you have them. A tick box will be coming soon for this bit.
Make sure you save before you move to the next section.
Location
Simply fill out the address of your venue and distances from airport, train station or City.
Pricing
This is an indicative per-person, per-day price - remember to list extras that can be added on to make the experience even more magical. You can chat directly with clients to understand their scope of work, so this is a starting point only for discussion. When you understand their scope of work you set a true proposal price and this is what is charged when accepted by the client.
Photos
We love photos which capture you in a natural environment. No-one is inspired by photos of meeting rooms with flip-charts, pop-up banners, or in boring, beige conference rooms. So, any photos of your space which projects your abundant natural environment, in addition to your brilliant facilities work well.
Upload at least four photos to showcase your listing. Aspect ratios between 1:5 to 1:6 are best.
Video
If you have a showreel, this is a great shortcut to grabbing a client’s interest and letting them know what your space is all about.
Review and Accept our SLA
Before your publish, you need to agree to WorkTripp SLA Agreement which you can preview here.
For Programmed Retreat listings
As above, with a few tweaks…
Programme
Whether you have a ready-to-go full retreat or plan to customise the offsite programme based on customer needs, use this space to give potential clients a flavour of what they can expect.
How many days does it cover?
What will the days look like? (Rough start times, number of sessions, finish times)
Who will deliver the sessions? Are they accredited or what unique and relevant experience do they have?
Will experiences be included? Give examples
Will catering be included? Give examples
Location
If you like to run your offsite retreats at your specific location, include the details here and explain why this is a special venue for your gathering.
Rates
In this section you can be clear about what is and isn’t included in the indicative price- and what elements can be added on to make the experience even more magical.
Your Profile
Don’t forget to complete your profile! This provides clients with more information about you and your organisation: your personal journey in hospitality, your unique vantage point on your field of work, your purpose & mission, why you believe offsite experiences and natural environment matter in the new world of work.
Ratings
These can only be added by clients who have booked your services through WorkTripp.
